Position overview:

As a Data Analyst at Ball Corporation, you're a key member of the Global Data Services team, reporting to the Senior Data Specialist.

You will contribute to the success of Ball by collecting, processing, and analysing data to provide insights that drive informed decision-making across the organisation.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with data engineers, specialists, and business stakeholders while gaining hands-on experience with advanced data analysis tools, methodologies, and technologies that support Ball's data-driven culture.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Gathering, organizing, and preparing data from multiple sources such as databases, spreadsheets, and external providers.
  • Cleaning, validating, and transforming data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness for analysis.
  • Conducting statistical and exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
  • Creating clear and engaging visualizations and dashboards in Qlik Sense, Power BI, or other tools to communicate insights effectively.
  • Supporting end users ("Citizen Developers") with guidance on data tools, standards, and best practices.
  • Staying current with evolving methodologies, technologies, and trends in data analysis, and recommending improvements where applicable.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within Ball's global data community.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in data analysis or reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools (Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of machine learning, big data, or text mining/NLP concepts is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Python (data libraries, ETL, JSON/XML parsing, RegEx) is desirable.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, learning-oriented attitude.
  • Fluency in English and alignment with Ball's values.
