Role Summary

The Autonomy organization at Rivian is seeking a skilled Data Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights and possess expertise in tools like Hex, Streamlit, SQL, AWS, and Databricks, we want you on board. This role requires a proactive individual who is adept at working with big data sets, building analytical data pipelines, and creating impactful visualizations.


Responsibilities

  • Data Visualization: Design and develop compelling and interactive data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Hex, and Streamlit to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
  • SQL Mastery: Utilize advanced SQL skills to efficiently query, manipulate, and manage data, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.
  • AWS Expertise: Leverage AWS cloud services to build, maintain, and optimize data analytics solutions, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Databricks Integration: Collaborate with the team to integrate data analytics processes seamlessly within the Databricks environment, including the development of notebooks and workflows.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Partner with business stakeholders and analysts to understand analytical requirements and deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs.
  • Data Exploration and Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support informed business decisions.
  • Data Pipelines: Design, build, enhance, and manage data pipelines to automate data transformation and ensure data availability in reporting tables.
  • Best Practices: Follow industry best standards and practices for data engineering, including data governance, security, and documentation.
  • Storytelling with Data: Develop narratives around data insights to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences.
  • Project Management: Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. 
  • Proven experience as a Data Analytics Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong track record of working with big data sets and building analytical data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Hex and Streamlit, with the ability to create complex and interactive visualizations.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with querying, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
  • Experience with Databricks for managing and analyzing big data.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts and data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, organizational skills, and a commitment to following best practices and maintaining high standards.
