Holycode is looking for a backend software engineer familiar with Java, C# or Python ready to dive into a software development internship in our Neon team.

Neon is a dynamic fintech start-up headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Our mission is to disrupt the Swiss banking industry and become the top choice for personal banking in Switzerland. With over 200'000 satisfied customers and counting, our small but dedicated team of about 50 people is proud of what we've achieved - and we're just getting started.

Currently, Neon is launching an internship program, offering exciting opportunities across multiple teams. Over the course of of the internship, you will:

  • Deepen your knowledge of Java programming (or other languages, depending on your skills)
  • Learn the end-to-end process of software development, from ideation to deployment
  • Gain hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and other modern engineering tools
  • Explore foundational architectural principles for building resilient, scalable solutions
  • Collaborate closely with our engineering team and receive mentorship throughout the program
  • Develop a well-rounded perspective on software engineering as a career

What we expect from you:

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (Java, C#, or Python)
  • A solid grasp of basic Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL

The following skills are not required, but are nice to have and will be considered an advantage:

  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools
  • Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes (K8S)

Program details

The internship will run for 6 months. This is a paid internship, so all participants will receive adequate compensation. You will also have the option of working from our Belgrade office. At the end of the program, we may offer you to join our team full-time, based on your performance during the internship.
