Ardagh Metal Packaging is looking for a Group IT Network Engineer

About the Role:

The Group IT Network Engineer is a key member of Ardagh's Infrastructure team, responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting network infrastructure across the organization. This role involves leading projects and managing network services including WAN/SDWAN, LAN/WiFi, VoIP Telephony, and Network Management Systems. The position also coordinates external suppliers and collaborates with IT service leads and project teams to implement corporate and plant floor system objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver network projects and solutions ensuring high availability and operational excellence.
• Monitor and troubleshoot IT networks, reporting issues and maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Research and recommend new technologies and processes to enhance business value.
• Develop and maintain resilient network topologies, change management processes, and recovery procedures.
• Assess short-term and long-term network capacity needs in collaboration with IT and business teams.
• Provide technical guidance for integrating applications and industrial equipment into the network landscape.
• Create dashboards for project progress and provide regular updates to IT management.

KPIs:

• Project completion within scope, time, and budget.
• Ticket resolution according to SLAs.
• High-quality, timely IT service delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Broad knowledge of network and security concepts (Firewall topology, NAC, ACLs, VPN, WiFi security).
• Experience with Aruba platforms (Airwave, ClearPass, Switching, WiFi).
• Intermediate knowledge of networking technologies (Switching, Routing, OSPF, MPLS, Wireless, Voice, QoS).
• Strong project management skills (timelines, cost tracking, risk mitigation, resource management).

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years in network design, implementation, and service administration.
• Experience with plant floor system networking is a plus.

Competencies:

• Highly self-motivated and able to lead technical teams.
• Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
