Associate - Geotechnics

Whitby Wood is looking for a self-motivated geotechnical associate who is passionate about sustainability, and keen to work in a collaborative environment. 

This is a terrific opportunity to join the lively London studio of a diverse interdisciplinary practice, taking responsibility for and nurturing a project team. You will be joining a practice committed to individual enterprise and creativity plus disciplined team endeavour.

You will need to be a dab hand with a pencil, a great communicator and good at problem-solving. You will also need to be able to command the respect of colleagues and clients, and experienced in successfully leading teams across a number of projects. This capability should be matched by excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to use initiative. Knowledge of current market conditions would be a great help. The ideal candidate digits and skills …
— 8+ years' experience, and a degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline
— Chartered with ICE, GSL or IOM3
— An excellent understanding of ground engineering principles
— Excellent verbal and written communication skills
— Analytical skills, the ability to solve practical problems and a willingness to use initiative and lead by example
— Self-motivation and ability to manage a team of technical people
