Our partner Embotech is a Zurich-based software company striving to develop cutting-edge autonomous driving technology for autonomous vehicles, with a focus on private ground applications such as logistics, Autonomous Valet Parking (AVP), and mining with a determination to accelerate the transition towards safe autonomous transportation by leveraging the core real-time optimization technology. PRODRIVER is Embotech's solution to the problem of motion planning for autonomous or highly-automated vehicles that will empower autonomous systems to make better decisions.

Together with our partner, we are expanding the team and looking for a

Software Tools Engineer

To join our interdisciplinary team and help extend and maintain cutting-edge IT infrastructure for software development and deployment.

As a Software Tools Engineer, you will join a team of top technical talent and will be key towards the development of software tools in Rust for Embotech automated driving solutions (yard logistics and car manufacturing). Knowledge of Rust is not a pre-requisite for this position, but you need to be eager to learn Rust.

Your responsibilities:

  • Implementation of software tools in Rust for automated driving projects
  • Develop, document, test, and maintain the companion software tools such as visualization, logging, and simulation tools necessary to successfully deploy, test and support our autonomous driving stacks
  • Design the best technical solution based on the requirements of internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist internal and external customers in debugging complex problems arising in the field
  • Write automated tests
  • Establish and follow state-of-the-art development practices
  • Perform reviews of requirements, documentation, test specifications, and source code
  • Ensure the software tools meet high demands towards performance and reliability.

Your profile:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in the development of software in strongly typed language like Go, C#, Java or Rust
  • Experience in backend infrastructure, servers and databases
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks, problems, and environments
  • Self-organized, solution-oriented, communicative team player with initiative
  • Very good oral and written language skills in English
  • Experience with the network (UDP, TCP/IP) / communication protocols is an advantage
