Team Lead Opportunities: Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

We are currently partnering with our client, one of the world's leading automotive suppliers, to find two exceptional Team Leads to establish their new Shared Service Center (SSC) in Belgrade.

This is a unique opportunity to lead key financial functions (either Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable), drive process harmonization across Europe, and play a vital role in the center's successful launch.

General Role Information

Both roles are critical leadership positions responsible for:

  • Leading
    a local team of specialists within the new SSC.
  • Ensuring
    the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of transactions across multiple European business units.
  • Driving
    process harmonization and knowledge transfer during the transition phase.
  • Monitoring
    key performance indicators (KPIs) and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including automation.
  • Acting
    as the key point of escalation for complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP) Team Lead

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of
    supplier invoices
    ,
    credit notes
    , and
    payment runs
    .
  • Monitor and resolve
    invoice discrepancies
    , blocked invoices, and
    vendor queries
    .
  • Maintain
    vendor master data
    in coordination with
    procurement
    .
  • Ensure compliance with
    VAT regulations
    and internal controls.
  • Special Focus:
    Ensuring compliance with VAT and managing vendor relationships.

Accounts Receivable (AR) Team Lead

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of
    customer invoices
    ,
    credit memos
    , and
    incoming payments
    .
  • Manage and reconcile self-billing transactions
    with automotive OEMs.
  • Monitor
    overdue receivables
    and
    support collection efforts
    .
  • Maintain
    customer master data
    and coordinate with
    sales
    .
  • Special Focus:
    Deep familiarity with
    self-billing processes
    used by European automotive OEMs and using the
    self-billing cockpit
    in SAP.

Must-Have Qualifications (Role-Specific)

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Experience:
    5+ years of relevant work experience in
    Accounts Payable
    or related finance functions.
  • Team Leadership:
    At least 2–3 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Strong knowledge of
    AP processes
    ,
    VAT handling
    , and invoice workflows.
  • Systems:
    Proficient in
    SAP (S/4HANA or ECC)
    , including tools for managing self-billing transactions.
  • Language:
    Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Experience:
    5+ years of relevant work experience in
    Accounts Receivable
    or related finance functions.
  • Team Leadership:
    At least 2–3 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Strong knowledge of
    AR processes
    , especially
    self-billing in the automotive industry
    .
  • Systems:
    Proficient in
    SAP (S/4HANA or ECC)
    , including tools for managing self-billing transactions/self-billing cockpit.
  • Language:
    Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Approach:
    Hands-on, detail-oriented, proactive, with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Travel:
    Regular overnight travel (10-25% of the time) is required, especially during the SSC transition phase.
