Junior Payroll Purser (Accountant) -Cruise Ship

We are seeking a detail-oriented
Junior Payroll Purser
to join our shipboard administration team. Reporting to the Administration Purser – Payroll and Time & Attendance, this role plays a key part in the payroll process and crew financial services. The position requires strong administrative skills, accuracy, and a customer-service mindset, as it involves direct interaction with crew members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with payroll processing, including calculations of pay, gratuities, commissions, and overtime.
• Manage crew inquiries related to payroll, SeaPass, foreign exchange, and salary systems.
• Support timekeeping system administration and prepare payroll audits.
• Handle crew receivables and maintain daily cash float.
• Uphold strict confidentiality of crew financial data and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; background in accounting or payroll preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in payroll or finance; 6 months of cash handling preferred.
• Strong Excel and computer skills; knowledge of financial systems and basic office equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

This is a shipboard position requiring physical readiness, including participation in emergency drills and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
