AspenGIS is building a next-generation Geo-Data Quality Platform designed to help organizations validate, monitor, and improve the integrity of their spatial datasets. By combining AI-driven anomaly detection, scalable data pipelines, and geospatial intelligence, we empower industries such as telecom, insurance, automotive, and digital twins to automate data quality management at scale.

The Role

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team and drive the intelligence layer of AspenGIS. You will apply data science and statistical methods to detect anomalies, enforce validation rules, and ensure geospatial data is reliable across multiple industries and use cases. Your work will directly shape how clients perceive and trust their data, and how our platform learns, adapts, and scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze public and client-provided geospatial datasets (and others) to detect inconsistencies, anomalies, and quality issues;
  • Develop and implement statistical models and ML approaches for anomaly detection and data quality assessment;
  • Work with large-scale datasets using Pandas, PySpark, PostGIS, Apache Sedona etc.;
  • Build models for anomaly detection, completeness, duplication, and schema validation in spatial data;
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and refine data health metrics;
  • Research and prototype new approaches in spatio-temporal analysis, clustering, and predictive modeling;
  • Contribute to technical reports, case studies, and blog posts showcasing impactful validation and anomaly detection use cases.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data science, geospatial analysis, or a related field;
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL;
  • Strong statistical and mathematical background applied to big data analysis;
  • Familiarity with visualization frameworks;
  • Bachelor's degree Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake);
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT workflows;
  • Exposure to data observability or data quality platforms.
