We are looking for a
Backend Software Engineer
to join our
Game Studio
. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and support our robust backend systems that power instant and probability - based games for iLottery platforms. You'll contribute to every phase of development - from planning and architecture to delivery - helping bring secure, scalable, and innovative experiences to lottery players around the world.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with teams across Serbia, Iceland and Canada to analyze, design, and develop the backend infrastructure for instant and probability-based games. We invite you to check them -
• Build, test, and deploy high-quality, reliable software

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical standards and best practices
• Mentor less experienced team members and support their development
• Contribute to release planning, ensuring timely and successful delivery

• You're a backend engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges in distributed systems and building scalable platforms for real-world applications.
• Enjoy writing clean, reliable, and well-tested code that supports millions of transactions securely and efficiently.
• Care deeply about performance, resiliency, and maintainability so that lottery players enjoy seamless gaming experiences worldwide.
• Believe in knowledge sharing, mentoring, and raising the technical bar within your team.
• Stay curious about modern engineering practices: cloud-native architectures, observability, automation, and continuous delivery - and apply them to make systems stronger.

What You'll Need

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in Java development, with expertise in frameworks such as Vert.x or other comparable framework with a focus on reactive and asynchronous programming
• Strong knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL databases
• Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience working with message queues (RabbitMQ preferred)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environment
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and services, particularly AWS
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana for system visibility and performance tuning
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
