Accounting and Controlling Officer

Location: Novi Sad

Your role would include:

• Accounting: Booking transactions in the accounting system, preparing, booking and controlling accruals and exchange rate re-evaluations, generating VAT recapitulation and filing VAT forms, generating cashflow forecast, closing accounts, maintaining financial spreadsheets and compiling draft financial statements  
• Booking invoices and payments in the accounting software: Reversing accruals and updating the Draft Accruals spreadsheet, updating IPT and archiving documentation in Sharepoint   
• Preparing and booking accruals in the accounting software: Gathering updates on project progress, updating IPT and Draft_Accruals spreadsheets   
• Managing pre-payments: Calculating amounts to be written-off and booking deferrals in the accounting software, updating IPT and Draft_Accruals spreadsheet with deferred amounts   
• Calculating and booking provisions  
• Booking salary and insurances in the accounting software: Updating Balance Sheet Reconciliation spreadsheet and controlling balances  
• Managing exchange rates: Recording rates in IPT and accounting SW, controlling balances of Accs. Receivable and Payable and cross checking accounting SW with IPT, calculating and booking re-evaluation of exchange rates in the accounting software and updating re-evaluation spreadsheet    
• Closing of the accounts: Updating IPT with accruals/deferrals for debtors and creditors and cross checking accounts balances with balances in IPT and generating P&L status  
• Compiling Financial Statements: Compiling draft and final financial statements (BS and Profit and loss) and archiving files in Sharepoint   
•  VAT Forms and recapitulation: Turnover reconciliation, expenses reconciliation (including 'Bezugsteuer'), updating VAT Recapitulation spreadsheet, filing online VAT reports (user needs to be registered in the iWedia account as the login works through a SMS code (to be sent to user's mobile))   
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation  
• Liquidity Analysis: Liquidity analysis of Balance Sheet and monthly analysis of changes   
• Financial closing: All processes described above and syncing with fiduciary   
• Filing tax declaration: Calculating amounts and confirming with fiduciary, filing tax declaration online (no credentials needed, just the tax form code) and archiving files in Sharepoint   
• Documenting accounting principles and changes in policy  
• Compiling accounting books: Bank accounts files by month, outstanding creditor and debtor invoices, admin travel expenses files and annual closing documents: financial statements, extract of accounts and details on accruals   

Requirements:

• University degree in Economics or related field  
• 3+ years of experience in similar positions   
• Proficiency in Excel    
• Fluency in English   
• Proactive communication with stakeholders, including asking for relevant input and clarifying uncertainties   
• Meticulous and detail oriented
