As the first QA Engineer at Tenderly, you'll have the opportunity to build our QA practice from the ground up. Over the past 5 years, our engineering teams have owned quality directly - now we're creating a dedicated QA function for the first time. In this role, you'll lay the foundations for how QA operates at Tenderly, from processes and tooling to automation, setting the standards that will shape how we ensure quality for years to come.

This role goes far beyond verifying API correctness and UI flows. As a Web3 infrastructure provider, our testing scope includes performance, scalability, and reliability testing across complex, distributed systems. You'll design and execute scenario-based and synthetic testing workflows that simulate how developers and enterprises actually use Tenderly, ensuring our systems hold up under real-world load and edge cases. Working closely with both engineering and product teams, you'll embed quality into every stage of our development lifecycle and help us deliver a platform that is both robust and delightful to use.

• Establish QA from scratch - define processes, choose tools, and set standards for automation and validation.

• Build and maintain automated testing for:

  • Front-end: component and end-to-end UI tests for core dashboard features.

  • API layer: correctness, stability, and edge case coverage.

  • Infrastructure services: performance, load, and resilience testing at scale.

• Design scenario-based and synthetic testing workflows that simulate complex, multi-step user journeys across systems.

• Collaborate closely with the product team to understand user needs, feature goals, and edge cases, aligning test strategies with business priorities.

• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines with clear quality gates for every release.

• Continuously improve QA practices, adopting new tools and methods that support platform reliability and speed of delivery.

• Strong experience in test automation, ideally across both UI and API layers.

• Hands-on expertise with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman/Insomnia, REST Assured, k6, or similar.

  But if you've worked with something even cooler, we'd love to hear about it as you will be the one setting up everything

• Experience designing and executing performance and scalability tests.

• Understanding of QA processes and their role in building high-reliability systems.

• Comfortable in CI/CD environments and integrating automated tests into pipelines.

• Proactive, collaborative mindset,- you care about raising the quality bar, not just running tests.

• Bonus points for:
