Quality NPI Engineer

Quality NPI engineer responsible for industrializing new products and assessing plant capabilities for production.

As a Quality NPI engineer at Goodyear, you will be responsible for industrializing new products and assessing the plant's capabilities for production. This role requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and update specifications for new products
• Collaborate in preparing materials for training and participate in training new employees
• Participate in cross-functional projects, determining commercial numbers and creating files on the network
• Create new databases for new products with associated molds
• Check specifications and project data logs for accuracy
• Verify package contents for product development
• Update mold data in SAP TP0
• Define specific gravity for new compounds in SAP GP3
• Check materials against plant requirements
• Enter testing data into testing plans
• Send requests for new molds as needed
• Calculate cap strip winding
• Transfer specifications to SAP and re-check entries for accuracy
• Create plans for experiment execution
• Plan quantities of blank dies for experiments and projects
• Order raw materials through the purchasing system
• Ensure materials are available for experiments
• Check components before building for accuracy and tolerance
• Control trial execution in the building
• Validate semi-products to specifications
• Coordinate trial activities in curing
• Review visual inspection reports
• Check tires after curing and document deficiencies
• Prepare tires for dispatch and evaluate semi-products
• Suggest improvements for semi-products' contours
• Review and understand reports on tire sections
• Define conditions and review static and dynamic test results
• Update data on the network
• Keep physical documents in registers
• Participate in project presentations for new designs and tire sizes
• Monitor newly included specs for industrialization
• Review and understand received documentation for new tires
• Make parameter calculations for new tires
• Draw profiles of semi-products for extrusion
• Check documentation for molds in SAP TP0
• Meet with NPI process holders weekly and create plans for production
• Suggest changes to construction for the next development iteration
• Prepare packages for release of tires into regular production
• Check documentation and tire inscriptions for accuracy
• Agree on conditions for tire fitment in curing
• Involved in condition analysis for discovered tire issues
• Participate in discussions about previous product introductions
• Help create FMEA based on DFMEA
• Agree on additional activities to monitor after release of new tire design
• Request changes and approvals of specifications

Requirements:

• VI/VII degree of education (Technical or Engineering background)
• Excellent computer skills and use of MS Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Advanced English language skills
• Team spirit
• Adaptability, patience, ability to meet tight deadlines
