As we establish our new Regional Engineering Office in Belgrade, Serbia, we are seeking a versatile
People Operations & Talent Specialist
to help us build and support our world-class team of software engineers. This role goes beyond recruitment – you'll play a key part in attracting top talent, supporting HR operations, and ensuring smooth office management and local administrative processes.

You'll collaborate with our Melbourne HQ and local team leads to define recruitment strategies, set up procedures and processes, manage day-to-day office needs, and champion our company culture as we continue to grow. About the job

HR Administration & Support

• Support onboarding and integration of new hires to ensure a smooth transition.
• Handle local HR administration, including payroll input, employment documentation, and compliance with local regulations.
• Establish and maintain HR procedures and processes aligned with company policies.
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives, policy roll-outs, and cultural alignment with HQ.

Office Management & Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Belgrade office, ensuring a well-functioning, efficient, and welcoming workspace.
• Manage office supplies, vendor relationships, and coordinate with local service providers.
• Support financial and administrative processes related to the office and company operations in Serbia.

Talent Acquisition

• Lead the recruitment process for engineering roles in Belgrade, including sourcing, screening, and presenting qualified candidates to hiring managers.
• Collaborate with team leads to develop detailed job descriptions and establish a recruitment plan for each role.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of top talent using direct sourcing, talent mapping, employee referrals, social media, job boards, and networking.
• Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

Local Employer Branding

• Raise awareness of our company and employer brand in the Serbian tech market.
• Partner with HQ to implement and localize talent acquisition strategies to attract top engineering talent.

About you

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in HR operations, with additional exposure to office management and technical recruitment.
• Strong knowledge of local labor regulations, compliance requirements, and HR administrative processes.
• Skilled in managing HR operations end-to-end, from employee onboarding and lifecycle management to payroll coordination and policy implementation.
• Familiar with office management practices to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Experience in technical recruitment, including sourcing and hiring for software engineering roles.
• Awareness of the Serbian tech market, including compensation benchmarks, candidate expectations, and talent availability.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with employees, candidates, and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, work collaboratively across local and global teams, and maintain a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
