The Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer – Edge AI & Computer Vision, you will play a pivotal role in developing intelligent systems that operate efficiently on edge devices. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world deployment, ensuring that models are not only accurate, but also optimized for performance, scalability, and resource constraints.

This role requires a deep understanding of machine learning, computer vision, and systems engineering, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will be expected to contribute across the entire ML lifecycle—from ideation and experimentation to deployment and maintenance—while maintaining high standards of code and model quality.

You will also be a key contributor to the team's technical strategy, helping shape the future of edge AI solutions within the organization. Your work will directly impact product capabilities, user experience, and the scalability of AI systems across various platforms.

• Own and deliver key Machine Learning / Computer Vision components or features of a project.
• Design and implement targeted initiatives to optimize internal or edge systems' efficiency and output.
• Identify novel solutions and take an active role in designing application units.
• Develop advanced-scope tools to automate research and development processes and enhance workflow efficiency.
• Support graduated AI solutions throughout their production lifecycle and construct prototypes.

• Ensure seamless integration between data pipelines and ML workflows.
• Collaborate on feature engineering, format specification and data coherency assurance / validation.
• Leverage data orchestration tools.

• Support infrastructure, scalability and reliability for ML projects.
• Ensure performance standards adherence for ML derived services (observability, logging and alerting).

• Prioritize platform capabilities based on product needs
• Align on timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate on "the art of the possible".

• Align on APIs and microservice protocols.
• Coordinate to ensure optimal resource usage.

• Data Engineering team, DevOps team, Product Management team, Engineering team.

• 2+ years of experience working on Machine Learning / Computer Vision systems at the edge. 
• Strong communicator, thriving in a highly agile environment. High tolerance to ambiguity, given the fast pace of ML systems evolution.
• Strong practical problem-solving and algorithmic skills. Very strong computer science base.
• Strong proficiency in Python or expert in a low level / systems programming language (willing to learn Python).
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, version control, and CI/CD.
• Deep understanding of ML algorithms, tuning, training and evaluation procedures. Capable of implementing algorithms and solutions presented in papers.
• Strong analytical skills, able to identify trends and make decisions based on data. Capable of expanding on experimental results presented by others. Ability to think critically about the available information and devise efficient solutions to problems.
• Experience with moving models from research to production (latency, scalability).
• Integrate and maintain the standards of code and model quality that facilitate further research and allow for easy long-term maintenance.
• Ability to design, execute and deliver small-scale applications.
• Ability to independently write research reports.

• Solid understanding of classical computer vision algorithms and concepts.
• Familiarity with machine vision and neural network models.
• Experience in developing or optimizing real-time systems.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps tools and workflows.
• Proficiency in video streaming, processing, decoding, and format handling.
• Knowledge of hardware and resource optimization techniques.
• Experience with deploying models on specialized or embedded/edge devices.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms.
