About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled
Lead DevOps Engineer
to join our growing team in Belgrade. As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will define and drive the DevOps strategy, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure that underpins our platform. You will lead initiatives around CI/CD automation, observability, and environment consistency.

This position requires strong technical leadership, hands-on expertise in cloud and automation, and the ability to mentor engineers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed DevOps practices into the engineering culture, ensuring delivery speed, resilience, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps. Foster a culture of automation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, ensuring consistent, scalable, and secure deployments.

CI/CD Automation

• Define and manage CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) across application, service, and data layers. Ensure fast, reliable, and repeatable delivery.

Observability & Monitoring

• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting practices using tools like CloudWatch, ELK, or Prometheus/Grafana. Drive proactive incident response and root cause analysis.

Security & Compliance

• Implement DevSecOps practices including vulnerability scanning, access management, encryption, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Environment Consistency

• Ensure consistency across development, staging, and production environments, reducing deployment risks and enabling high-quality releases.

Collaboration

• Partner with developers, QA, product managers, and architects to align DevOps practices with business goals and delivery milestones.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with the latest DevOps, cloud, and automation trends. Propose and implement improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and developer productivity.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 8+ years in DevOps/Cloud engineering, with at least 3+ years in a lead role
  .

Technical Expertise:

• Knowledge of AWS core services.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps).
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, EKS/ECS).
• Monitoring and logging (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic).

Security & Compliance:

• Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.

Collaboration:
Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.

Leadership:

• Proven experience mentoring engineers and driving cultural adoption of DevOps practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in betting or gaming platforms, including high-availability, real-time systems.
• Knowledge of multi-tenant architectures and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with performance testing and capacity planning for large-scale platforms.
