Position Overview
Responsible for daily and month/quarter-end close activities. Providing accounting support in general accounting area.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Prepares journal entries from source documentation. This may include, but is not limited to, performing and reviewing calculations prepared by others, summarizing source data, evaluating reliability of source data and verifying account coding.
  • Prepares monthly or quarterly balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with corporate policy. Reconciliations agree to the source ledger, have a clear explanation of what makes up the balance and any unidentified differences are resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Able to investigate and propose an approach for resolving issues or accounting around new items.
  • Viewed as a subject matter expert on their accounting processes, and is sought after to provide assistance and resolution on accounting for new items and questions from multiple departments and levels.
  • Meets tight deadlines consistently and reliably, and is responsible for communicating any deadlines that may be missed to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintains process documentation and updates the documentation as processes change.
  • Responds to internal, external and/or audit inquiries.

What are we looking for?

  • Job related experience for 3 years minimum.
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: accounting principles, practices, nomenclature, procedures, advanced accounting, Excel.
  • Ability to apply independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accounting techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Microsoft office (advanced Excel).
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
