About the Role

We are seeking a
Java Engineer
to join BlackRock's technology team in Belgrade. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge financial systems and data-driven applications that power some of the world's most advanced investment platforms. You'll collaborate closely with global teams to design and implement scalable solutions using
Core Java, Microservices, and modern data technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using
    Core Java
    and
    Microservices architecture
    .
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design, performance tuning, and integration with existing enterprise systems.
  • Work with
    SQL
    and
    relational databases
    to model, query, and optimize data flows.
  • Contribute to system modernization initiatives by improving reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment automation to maintain high engineering standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in distributed environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years
    of experience in backend software engineering with
    Java
    .
  • Strong understanding of
    Core Java, OOP principles, and design patterns
    .
  • Proven experience with
    Microservices
    frameworks (Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar).
  • Proficiency in
    SQL
    and
    relational database design
    (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
  • Familiarity with
    RESTful APIs
    ,
    message queues
    , and
    containerization
    (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Good understanding of
    CI/CD pipelines
    and agile development practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with attention to detail and clean code principles.

  • Experience with
    cloud platforms
    (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of
    data pipelines
