As a
Senior Data Engineer,
you will take ownership of designing, scaling, and optimizing the data platforms that drive our e-commerce operations. You will lead complex data initiatives, mentor junior team members, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our data ecosystem is robust, efficient, and future-proof. This is a key role for an experienced engineer who wants to shape the data foundation of one of the fastest-growing e-commerce companies in the region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of advanced data pipelines, data models, and analytical layers that support real-time and batch processing.
  • Architect scalable data solutions and take responsibility for the reliability, performance, and maintainability of the data infrastructure.
  • Drive the development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for managing cloud-based data environments.
  • Oversee data quality, governance, lineage, and compliance across all stages of data processing.
  • Build and optimize complex data processing systems using Python and related libraries.
  • Manage, tune, and troubleshoot distributed systems (Kubernetes, Docker) and streaming platforms.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to define data needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Mentor and support Data Engineers, sharing best practices and promoting engineering excellence.

Essential skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, with a proven track record of delivering scalable data solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, etc.) and cloud-native architectures
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and frameworks like PySpark, NumPy, and Pandas.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, data pipeline orchestration, and data warehousing concepts
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience with relational and analytical databases (preferably PostgreSQL and Redshift)
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain complex ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data warehouses
  • Good knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
  • Strong analytical thinking, ownership mindset, and the ability to lead technical initiatives
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Passion for data-driven product development and continuous improvement
  • Fluency in English
