Role Summary

Based in our Belgrade office, we are seeking an experienced and passionate software QA manager to build and guide our local quality assurance team focused on cutting-edge Infotainment systems. This is a critical leadership role responsible for establishing best practices and driving the automation strategy for a team located in Serbia. You will be the key technical bridge, coordinating efforts and engaging with stakeholders across Serbia, the US and Canada.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will leverage your deep technical expertise to architect robust test solutions while dedicating your time to approximately 60% advanced coding/automation, 20% strategic test development and 20% team leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Champion Local Test Excellence: Drive the strategy for writing and standardizing tests and contributing to a uniform and scalable automation framework.
• Technical Stewardship of System Health: Take full ownership of maintaining and proactively improving the overall health, stability, and performance of our Infotainment systems through comprehensive testing strategies executed by your team.
• Expert-Level Troubleshooting & Debugging: Serve as the senior technical escalation point for your team, guiding them in resolving complex issues within the product, automation framework and test cases.
• Architect and Develop Advanced Automation Solutions: Design, develop and maintain sophisticated software automation for critical end-to-end customer use cases, setting the standard for code quality and robustness in the Belgrade office.
• Mentor and Grow the Infotainment QA Team in Serbia: Provide direct technical guidance, mentorship and career development for QA engineers in Serbia, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Bridge Global Teams: Act as the primary technical liaison between the Serbian QA team and engineering stakeholders in the US and Canada, ensuring seamless communication, alignment on priorities and clear reporting across different time zones.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities and implement solutions for enhancing test automation frameworks, improving testing processes and increasing overall team efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience as an Software Development Engineer in Test or QA Engineer, with a strong emphasis on Python for test automation development.
• Proven Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience in guiding or leading small teams, mentoring junior engineers and driving technical decisions within a QA/testing environment.
• Expertise in Python & Automation Architecture: Proven ability to architect, develop, and maintain robust, efficient and high-quality automation frameworks and test suites in Python. Working knowledge of Appium and/or Selenium.
• Deep Understanding of QA Methodologies: Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing principles and best practices in Agile environments.
• Experience Testing Android Apps: Direct experience testing Android applications or Android-based systems. Proficiency with tools such as Android Debug Bridge (ADB) is required.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git), issue tracking software (Jira) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exceptional International Communication: Must possess excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones, conveying complex technical details clearly to stakeholders in Serbia, the US and Canada.
• Excellent documentation skills with the ability to create clear, concise and comprehensive test plans, strategies, and reports.
• A strong sense of ownership, proactivity, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage complex technical challenges in a dynamic, international environment.
