I'm Ivan Cvetković, General Manager at HejDev doo here in Niš. We help our main sister companies, Town Web and HeyGov, to build digital services that help U.S. municipalities serve their citizens better—but our real superpower is the quirky, passionate crew that makes it all happen.

What we do

We're a GovTech web agency. On any given day, we're:

• Designing, building, and hosting WordPress + custom CMS websites for 1,000+ local governments.
• Shipping HeyGov (our civic‑engagement SaaS) on microservices.
• Making sure citizens can pay a dog‑license fee on their phone at 2 a.m. without cursing the UI.

Methodology: Shape Up‑ish (no Scrum jargon here)

We plan work in focused cycles—think clear problem shaping, three-ish‑week build windows, and short daily check‑ins. No story points, epics, or sprint bingo cards; just thoughtful planning, shipping, and learning.

Requirements

What you'll be doing

(Split roughly 70 % front‑end / 30 % back‑end—exact mix depends on the current cycle.)

Front‑of‑house

• Turn Figma files into responsive Vue + Tailwind/Bootstrap components that sing on every device.
• Customise & extend WordPress themes.
• Optimise Core Web Vitals; keep Google Lighthouse glowing green.
• Bake accessibility (ADA) in from day one.
• Pair with designers & PMs to ship features, not Figma museum pieces.

Back‑of‑house

• Build/extend REST & GraphQL APIs in Laravel or
• Wire those shiny UIs to MySQL so the data actually shows up.
• Write clean, well‑tested PHP/TypeScript that other humans enjoy reading.
• Integrate third‑party services (payment, maps, auth, you name it).
• Automate deployments with GitHub Actions and a sprinkle of Bash.

You'll also:

• Join quick daily check‑ins, weekly demos, and the occasional "favorite pizza" war.
• Contribute to internal component libraries and best‑practice docs.
• Help unblock teammates—knowledge‑sharing beats gate‑keeping.

What makes you a great fit

Must‑have front‑end chops

• 3 + years crafting HTML / CSS / JS experiences; you dream in grid and flex.
• Advanced (or React with a motivation to switch).
• Comfortable in TypeScript land.
• Proven record of performance‑first, accessible, mobile‑first thinking.

Solid back‑end know‑how

• Professional experience with PHP (Laravel and/or WordPress) or
• Understanding of relational DB basics (schema design, indexes, migrations).
• Know when to reach for Redis, queues, Cron, etc.
• Can debug 500 Internal Server Error without sacrificing goats.

Soft stuff that matters

• Explain technical concepts to non‑technical humans without eye‑rolling.
• Eager to learn, unafraid to ask why, generous in sharing knowledge.
• Positive‑sum attitude: you leave codebases and people better than you found them.
• You still think coding is fun—even on a Monday.
