International Finance Development Specialist

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is a member of the World Bank Group, focusing on private sector development in emerging markets. It operates in over 100 countries, leveraging capital, expertise, and influence to create jobs and improve living standards.
Strengthening private sector development in the Western Balkans is one of IFC's key priorities. This involves providing investment and advisory services to enhance the investment climate, improve access to finance, advance regulatory reforms, and build institutional capacity.
The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting IFC's efforts by:
- Assisting the team with desk research on political, macroeconomic, industry, and sector developments in Serbia
- Supporting the formulation and execution of country strategies, preparing briefing materials, and developing partnerships with World Bank teams
- Contributing to business development, due diligence analysis, financial analysis, and project monitoring, as well as participating in missions and project appraisals
- Supporting advisory projects, working with economists and operations officers on activities such as regulatory framework analysis, stakeholder identification, and event organization
This position is part of the Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group Talent programme, sponsored by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). As an International UN Youth Volunteer, you will receive a monthly living allowance, UN health insurance coverage, and your travel, relocation, and other costs will be covered.
