International Development Finance Specialist

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. IFC works in over 100 developing countries, leveraging its capital, expertise, and influence to create jobs and raise living standards for people.
Job DescriptionAs a Financial Analyst, you will support the IFC team in various capacities:
- Conduct desk research on political, macroeconomic, industry, and sector developments in Serbia;
- Support the formulation and execution of country strategies, prepare briefing materials, and develop partnerships with World Bank teams;
- Contribute to business development, due diligence analysis, financial analysis, and project monitoring, and participate in missions and project appraisals;
- Support advisory projects, working with economists and operations officers on activities like regulatory framework analysis, stakeholder identification, and event organization;
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in economics, finance, public policy, business, legal, organizational sciences or related field;
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in international finance/development, auditing, business consulting, mergers & acquisitions;
- Analytical and quantitative skills in economics and/or private sector development work, including financial analysis;
- Familiarity with the social and economic challenges of the countries in the Western Balkans and a previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture would be highly regarded;
- Fluent English language skills, knowledge in Serbian is an asset.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join the Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group program, sponsored by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The International UN Youth Volunteer contract ensures that travel, relocation, and UN health insurance costs are covered. A monthly living allowance is also provided.
