Description
This role plays a key part in modernizing infrastructure, optimizing CI/CD pipelines and enabling developer productivity through platform tooling and automation. The ideal candidate has strong experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure as code and a DevOps mindset, thriving in a collaborative, agile environment.

The Senior Engineer will play a pivotal role alongside all areas of Technology to ensure that technical solutions are aligned across teams, deliver value to the customers as well as ensuring consistent monitoring, logging and alerting.

Delivery Engineering Team
Delivery Engineering is an internal platform team focused on building and improving systems to accelerate the delivery of software and infrastructure. Our team's first target will be enabling DevOps practices due to its direct impact on the overall processes and culture.

The primary goal of Delivery Engineering is to build the "Golden Path" to production by automating and concentrating improvements around bottlenecks such as Integration points and handoffs. We will work closely with Development teams to break down silos, helping to build more resilient pipelines, continuously improve the delivery system and help with the adoption of better overall delivery practices/processes.

Currently reviewing the future possibility to become a fully supportive On-Call operational team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the modernization of our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure and platforms automation
• Working closely with development teams, platform engineers and security to optimize deployment processes, proficient in Agile practices
• Focus on enhancing our reliability and streamline DevEx supporting directly our money-revenue development teams
• Ensure effective incident response, root cause analysis and problem resolution during incident management sessions, lead into live production issues
• Take ownership and pride in the work you deliver, ensure what is delivered is of quality and takes into account security, capacity and performance
• Promoting excellence in documentation and visibility by proactively equipping ourselves with the right tools like operating procedures (SOPs) and architectural diagrams
• Improve the team skill set by increasing and sharing knowledge, thus setting the quality and precision engineering benchmark
• Understand the importance of and be a strong advocate for non-functionals eg. monitoring, alerting, logging

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps oriented roles, including and similar to Site Reliability Engineering or Platform Engineering roles
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools and platforms like GitLab CI, Nexus, SonarQube
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline optimizations, like improving Docker image build performance and artifact caching techniques
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible
• Practical experience with cloud platforms (OCI preferred), familiarity with networking, security, and platform resilience in cloud environments
• Solid understanding and design experience with Kubernetes (K8S) platform, containerization (Docker) and orchestration patterns
• Able to plan and drive migration activities from legacy applications to modernized cloud platforms and workloads
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes applications using Helm charts, Kustomize, maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes workloads
• Implement GitOps workflows and manage Infrastructure with tools like
• FluxCD/ArgoCD
• Experience with Observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, OCI Observability
• Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the Linux operating system for effective troubleshooting activities
• Problem-solving with ability to deep dive into problems to find the underlying issues
• Attention to detail, dig into understanding what is needed rather than what may be requested
• Dealing with changes on a daily basis in a very dynamic work environment
• Ability to demonstrate the value of changes introduced and with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholdersProven communication and collaborative skills while working with 3rd parties
