Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager to lead our OTA Operations teams. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the reliable, secure, and scalable delivery of software updates to our entire vehicle fleet, while also managing the data and solutions associated with those vehicles. The ideal candidate blends deep technical expertise in software deployment and data engineering with proven leadership skills to drive process excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of operations and data engineers that ensures robust software update support for all consumer/commercial vehicles by proactively managing software updates and anomalies across Rivian's global fleet.
• Assist and track OTA software update campaigns and associated processes across Rivian's global fleet and promptly triage or resolve issues.
• Manage a team that will perform data analysis, build dashboards, automated solutions and troubleshooting tools for software updates to maintain and monitor fleet health across the Rivian fleet and support the Rivian-Volkswagen systems..
• You will be responsible for a team that deploys, design, and implement analytics solutions using technology and deploy innovative offerings that facilitate fleet health user experience for software updates and maintain our operational metrics.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, design to onboard and validate new OTA integrations, solutions, and features prior to releasing to production.
• Hire, mentor, and coach a high-performing team of operations & triage specialists, and data engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years working as a technical engineer within the loT, fleet management/ wireless/networking, or connected car/Autonomous vehicles/EV industries
• 3+ years working as a manager to guide and motivate employees to achieve goals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing operational and data improvements
• Strong project/team management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven experience in Over-the-Air (OTA) software deployment, fleet management, or related high-reliability distribution systems.
• Excellent Analytical And problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Experience with scripting in Python/PySpark, JavaScript or automation in similar languages
• Experience writing SQL queries to support business intelligence objectives
• Experience working with contemporary web API architectures such as REST or GraphQL
• Experience with AWS/cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines is preferred
• Experience with automated data analysis and Big Data platforms (Databricks or Snowflake/Redshift)
• Experience with loT solutions that involve complex software update campaigns, fleet management software lifecycle management, API/network integrations
• Self-motivated with the cross-functional mindset to lead teams and dive right in, develop effective processes, and work to ensure our vehicles remain connected
