Role Purpose

The Managing Agent Operations Manager has responsibility for the governance and oversight of the internal operations and technology of Matrix Managing Agent to ensure that the regulator's requirements that apply to the Operations function are met to the required standards. Matrix Managing Agent is a Lloyd's Managing Agent that will be operational from January 2027 and responsible for the management of two Lloyd's syndicates, S1609 and S2610.

 Key Responsibilities


• Responsible for the oversight and governance of the Operational Resilience framework within the Mosaic Group. The Important Business Services IBS under Operational Resilience include Underwriting and within the Mosaic Group the Underwriting Business Service is carried out by the Service Companies/ MGAs based in 7 locations (Asia, Bermuda, Canada, Dubai, EU, UK and US ) underwriting risks on behalf of Mosaic's Lloyd's syndicates and other external syndicates.


• Support the implementation of the Operational Resilience strategy and continued development


• To support the delivery of a managing agent Target Operating Model to represent how the people, premises, third party suppliers and technology can be organised to efficiently deliver the managing agent strategy.


• Responsible for Information and Communications Technology for the managing agent, driving the IT strategy and documenting the technology requirements for the managing agent


• Oversight and governance of the Cybersecurity delivery from the IT function for all users and systems of the managing agent


• Own the business continuity planning, business impact analysis and testing


• Oversight of the procurement policy, outsourcing and third party providers operational risk for the managing agent. Representing the managing agent with the Mosaic third party managers and performing periodic reviews to ensure third party risk is being managed effectively.


• Plan and monitor resource requirements for the managing agent to ensure they are sufficient to fulfill the operational tasks and deliverables for the smooth running of internal operations


• Management and monitoring of intragroup services provided to the managing agent by Mosaic Group Functions


• Co-ordination and development of policies, processes and procedures across the managing agent to ensure a standardised process model. Identifying KPIs and monitoring performance to drive operational excellence


• Keep abreast of operational developments within the market and work in conjunction with the Tranformation and Change team to implement key projects within the managing agent e.g. Blueprint 2


• Operational Risk Control Owner, performing quarterly risk and control reviews in conjunction with Risk Management

Board & Committee Membership


• Reporting to the Matrix COO for the managing agent Operations function, providing operational MI to the Matrix Board.
