A Commerce Architect is responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and high-performance software solutions in the Commerce Domain. This role requires a deep understanding of software architecture principles and the ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.

This role requires hands-on experience as Salesforce B2B Commerce Architect with a broad technical perspective regarding solution architecture.

Job Description

• Design the architecture systems in the Commerce Domain to ensure high performance and scalability
• Lead the design and optimization of digital commerce platforms, primarily focused on Salesforce B2B Commerce, but with consideration for broader architectural patterns.
• Develop and maintain software architecture documentation.
• Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across the software development lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
• Review and approve design and code to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development team.
• Participate in project planning and estimation activities.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of software systems.
• Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for pitches and client work.

Requirements

• Solid hands-on experience with Salesforce B2B Commerce & Order Management
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and patterns.
• Experience designing and delivering complex, enterprise-grade commerce solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to lead teams, provide guidance, and support team development.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with other Salesforce products (e.g., Experience Cloud, Service Cloud).
• Exposure to other commerce platforms or ecosystems (e.g., SAP Commerce Cloud, Magento, Shopify…).
• Understanding of headless commerce and modern architecture paradigms (e.g., MACH, composable architecture).
