We're seeking an experienced z/OS Mainframe System Administrator to manage and maintain our mainframe computer systems. In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing smooth operation of the z/OS operating system and related software

Tasks:

  • Install, update, and configure z/OS and third-party software.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical system issues.
  • Manage system I/O, prepare for maintenance, and participate in disaster recovery drills.
  • Execute system projects, including upgrades, migrations, and LPAR/CPU changes.
  • Maintain system security profiles and manage data files (SMF, OMVS, zFS).
  • Document all system changes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of dedicated z/OS system programming experience.
  • Strong understanding of z/OS architecture, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with z/OS system commands, tools, and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Bonus Points:

  • z/OS system programming certification.
  • Experience with IDMS.
  • Experience with JES, IMS, CICS, REXX, DB2 or COBOL.
  • Knowledge of mainframe systems in the cloud.
