Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: Base salary plus bonuses, including accommodation provided

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate possible workplace hazards, including those linked to new equipment, processes, or changes in working conditions, and suggest preventative actions.
  • Perform regular safety inspections to ensure adherence to safety regulations, check the condition of equipment, and confirm the correct use of personal protective equipment.
  • Plan, create, and conduct safety training sessions for employees and managers to enhance awareness and ensure proper safety practices are followed.
  • Keep thorough and current safety records, including prevention plans, inspection summaries, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for risk evaluations, equipment servicing, and compliance audits.
  • Partner with internal safety teams or committees to identify critical risk areas and recommend safety improvements.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, document outcomes, and propose corrective steps to avoid future occurrences.
  • Develop and update emergency response, evacuation, and prevention plans regularly, ensuring all staff are trained in their implementation.
  • Stay updated on applicable safety laws, standards, and best practices through continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • Native or fluent English speaker (C1 level), with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, technical sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety or a related safety role.
  • Valid occupational health and safety certification or license when required by law.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety laws, risk assessment, and compliance obligations.
  • Competent in identifying risks, applying safety protocols, and supervising the maintenance and use of safety equipment.
  • Physically able to conduct inspections across different work environments.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, able to work efficiently with colleagues and external partners.
