Role overview

We are looking for a
Data Engineer

to join our growing Data team in Serbia (hybrid format). In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain a scalable and secure data infrastructure that powers analytics, products, and business insights. You will work closely with data analysts, DevOps engineers and other teams to ensure data integrity, reliability, and accessibility across multiple systems.

Your mission: create a robust data ecosystem that transforms raw telematics, business, and operational data into structured, high-quality resources — fueling data-driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain

a scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure supporting efficient data acquisition, processing, and storage.
- Architect and manage

end-to-end data solutions in AWS or other cloud environments, including containerized deployments.
- Develop and optimize

data pipelines for both batch and real-time processing, ensuring high performance and data consistency.
- Implement and automate

data workflows, scripts, and tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce latency.
- Ensure data quality and governance

by developing validation, monitoring, and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate

with Data Analytics, DevOps, and other teams to align data infrastructure with business goals and product needs.
- Continuously improve

reliability, scalability, and performance through automation and modern engineering practices.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data infrastructure role
  • Strong expertise with
    AWS

(or other major cloud platforms) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience with
ETL/ELT processes

, data pipeline orchestration (e.g., Airflow), and streaming frameworks (e.g., Kafka)
- Proficiency in
SQL

and at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse, etc.)
- Familiarity with
data governance

, access control, and compliance standards
- Understanding of
data modeling

, performance optimization, and data warehouse concepts
- English B2 - С1 level (technical communication, documentation, participation in meetings)

Nice to have

  • Experience with telematics, IoT, or sensor data
  • Familiarity with BI and analytics tools (Power BI, Metabase, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Exposure to data lake or data mesh architectures
  • Valid residency in Serbia
