Expert - Database Administrator

Location: Belgrade

Job Description:

• Managing data consistency and robust integration across a heterogeneous database environment, which includes Oracle, MSSQL Server and other types of DBMS;
• Ensuring 24/7 operational excellence and uptime of mission-critical Oracle databases operating on multi-TB datasets (10+ TB);
• Managing end-to-end Oracle database lifecycle (planning, installation, configuration, monitoring, scheduled maintenance, performance tuning, patching and upgrades);
• Deployment of new features of Core banking system (bApO) delivered with new software versions, parameterization of databases and application servers;
• Ensuring database scalability and high availability;
• Performance tuning and execution of plan analysis, in order to detect bottlenecks and resolve slow-running business operations or batch processing;
• Building metrics, alerts and dashboards to proactively detect performance issues;
• Managing backups, recovery and disaster recovery (RMAN, Data Guard);
• Implementing and maintaining user access controls and security standards;
• Troubleshooting in the production environment and collaboration with other IT teams;
• Performing activities in the domain of database management with the aim of implementing new initiatives, as well as integration of new systems into a high-growth IT environment;

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Candidate Expectations:

• VI/VII level of education in the field of IT, Engineering, Mathematics or Organizational Sciences;
• 5+ years of experience in the Oracle database administration;
• Proven experience working with database management tools and performance tuning techniques;
• Experience working in Linux-based environments;
• Proficiency in PL/SQL, T-SQL;
• Preferred experience with bApO system;
• Experience with ASM, Data Guard, OEM;
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices such as Kubernetes;
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
• Independence in assessing potential risks and resolving challenges;
• Strong communication skills;
• Knowledge of the English language;
