Data Product Owner

Job Description
You will partner with clients to define the vision and roadmap for data products, while working closely with delivery teams to ensure successful execution. This role requires both a consultancy mindset and hands-on product management skills, bridging business goals with modern data technologies such as Data Fabric, Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Databricks and cloud-native ecosystems.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Consultancy

• Define and communicate the vision, objectives and roadmap for data products in alignment with client business goals.
• Translate business outcomes into data strategies and product features, providing guidance on adoption of modern data platforms.
• Advise stakeholders on best practices in data governance, integration and productization.
• Build trusted relationships with executives, product owners and delivery leads to ensure alignment and adoption.

Delivery & Execution

• Lead requirements gathering, backlog management and user story definition for data initiatives (pipelines, governance, analytics, reporting, AI/ML enablement).
• Work with engineering and architecture teams to ensure data solutions are designed and delivered effectively, balancing functionality with scalability, security and compliance.
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies (planning, review, retrospectives) to ensure backlog priorities are clear and deliverables meet client expectations.
• Ensure quality through definition of acceptance criteria, testing involvement and alignment with non-functional requirements.
• Support knowledge transfer, training and documentation for client stakeholders to drive adoption.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis or data-focused solution delivery.
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management: governance, integration, quality, consumption.
• Exposure to modern data technologies and platforms (Data Fabric, CDP, Databricks, Snowflake, cloud-native data solutions).
• Proven experience in backlog ownership, story mapping and agile delivery.
• Ability to bridge strategy and execution, aligning high-level goals with detailed delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with executives and delivery teams alike.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to have:

• Consultancy background, with experience working directly with clients in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Cross-industry exposure, ideally in Financial Services, Public Sector or Retail.
