Belgrade, Central Serbia VirtualResource Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

VirtualResource (VR) is a boutique consultancy supporting companies to optimise their HR systems and Workday. We strive to be the go-to company that partners with businesses to optimise their HR technology landscape.

We value our people

  • We recognise the need for a committed, skilled and loyal team and strive to create a working environment that is flexible, caring and considerate of all needs.

  • We attract the best people and reward them appropriately

  • Staff development and upskilling are core to what we do

What is the role about?

As a Workday Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end delivery of Workday initiatives, with a particular focus on Workday HCM functional areas. You will oversee all aspects of project management including planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling projects to successful outcomes. This role requires both strong project management skills and deep functional understanding of Workday HCM, enabling you to effectively partner with HR leaders, functional SMEs, IT, and vendors to deliver impactful solutions for VirtualResource clients.

You will be expected to adhere to project management best practices, demonstrate strong knowledge of the systems development life cycle (SDLC), and bring hands-on expertise in Workday HCM to guide stakeholders through complex business and system changes.

  • Lead Workday HCM implementation and enhancement projects from initiation through close, ensuring alignment with project management methodology and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones; communicate project approach and updates to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Partner closely with HR teams and functional SMEs to define HCM requirements (e.g., Core HR, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Absence, Payroll) and ensure solutions meet business needs.

  • Oversee and manage key deliverables including requirements, responsibilities, budgets, timelines, and testing outcomes.

  • Manage resources and lead multiple workstreams in fast-paced implementation scenarios, including M&A and post-merger integration initiatives.

  • Ensure system integrations, data migration, and change management activities are well-planned and executed.

  • Anticipate issues, manage risks, and escalate appropriately to maintain project momentum and success.

What skills are we looking for?

Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team on a daily basis.

To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR / business knowledge with Workday functionality, and proactively drive process improvements. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team.

Must have Skills Required

  • Proven experience with Workday HCM (hands-on functional knowledge across modules such as Core HR, Compensation, Recruiting, Absence, Benefits, Talent, Payroll).

  • Strong ERP implementation background, ideally across multiple modules or industries.

  • Expertise in Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.

  • Advanced business analysis and requirements gathering capabilities, with an emphasis on HCM business processes.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Team-oriented and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Skilled at managing tight deadlines, competing priorities, and multiple concurrent workstreams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to interpret HCM-related data and deliver actionable insights.

  • Comfortable working across cross-functional teams, particularly HR, Finance, Legal, and IT.

Other Qualifications/Skills that will be beneficial but not mandatory

  • Degree-level education

  • Project Management Workday certification

As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere United States or Canada, so long as you are authorised to work in the country you reside in without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
