About the role
We are looking for an ambitious finance professional who is passionate about and thrives in the fast pace of growing early-stage technology companies.
As a Client Director you will play a pivotal role helping our clients grow their businesses through all stages of development – from funding, through growth, to exit planning. You also have an understanding of the finance infrastructure needs of growth companies and the appropriate technology, processes and controls.
You are likely to be currently working within a dynamic finance team, looking to broaden your involvement across different aspects of finance. You will have the skills to support multiple clients through all stages of their development.
You'll be based in our London office (Liverpool Street) but will have the ability to work remotely from a home-based office and will be happy to occasionally travel for client visits.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day relationship across your portfolio of clients and provision of our services to them including,
- Financial Operations, including agreeing and implementing appropriate policies and delegations with your clients
- Defining management reporting and delivering the information needed to build their businesses
- Production of forecasts and budgets, advising on business and strategic financial planning
- Managing cashflow and runway
- Supporting clients during fund raisings, exits and other corporate activities
- Management of all statutory reporting requirements, such as annual returns, overseeing and coordinating audits, corporation tax returns and R&D tax credit process
- Day-to-day management of the engagement team to ensure delivery of high quality services to our clients
- Co-ordination with the Client Engagement CFO on all aspects of the service provided to your portfolio of clients, which includes the escalation of matters as appropriate
- On boarding new clients to iCFO, coordinating the transformation of their finance service with the implementation of iCFO's processes, tech stack and reporting insights
- Assisting with new client proposals, including attending prospect meetings and events as well as the preparation of materials
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant with at least 5 years post qualification experience or equivalent, including at Senior Management Accountant or Financial Controller level
- Experience working in technology startups / early-stage businesses (VC and/or PE backed)
- Adept at presenting complex ideas and solutions simply to non-financial audiences
- Demonstrate agility and pace together with an ability to work and make decisions in ambiguous, changing environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to design and implement appropriate technology and processes, showing a meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent MS Excel skills
