We are a US-based nonprofit, working on bringing scientists from different disciplines to work on reducing AI Risks.

Role Description

This is a project on-site role for a Conference Event Manager located in Cambridge, MA. The Conference Event Manager will be responsible for organizing our Physics Renormalization and AI Safety conference, We expect around 30 attendees, October 20th to 23rd. The venue is booked, and we need help organizing catering, executing on the day, and helping with recording.

Qualifications

  • Having organized other events before is a requirement. Having organzied events for scientists is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is preferred
  • Knowledge of Boston area helps, being located in Cambridge/Boston is a big plus.

We expect the role to be about 12 hours of work on the four days of the conference, and have another ~20 hours of work maximum in correspondence prior to the event, with another ~4 hours after the event to do reflections. Our mean salary for the project is 1500 USD; more is possible for exceptional candidates. We are not currently looking for a long-term hire, but there is a possibility of being trialed for other Ops project and later part- or full-time roles.
