RETAIL LEASING MANAGER

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Retail Leasing Manager is responsible for leasing retail spaces (street retail, shopping centers, and specialty leasing) to ensure high occupancy and strong rental returns. The role includes identifying and screening tenants, negotiating sustainable leases, managing renewals and amendments, and coordinating all leasing activities until business launch. Staying updated on market trends, the manager also supports the overall retail strategy by securing suitable and aligned retail concepts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the rental of retail (street retail, shopping center retail including specialty leasing) units to ensure maximum occupancy and a premium level of rentals
  • Negotiate leases that are sustainable and complement the long-term leasing strategy
  • Manage all leasing activities including attracting new tenants, vetting prospective clients, rental negotiations, lease renewals, lease amendments and prepare all documents for execution
  • Responsible to meet the prospective at all levels across all business groups and provide details of all available units, terms and conditions for leasing, screening the tenants and conduct background checks to finalize the lease
  • Follow up on leads and sets appointments
  • Review the changes and variations requested by the tenant to the lease or license agreement to safeguard the commercial interest and legal rights of the Company
  • Coordinate with the owners, tenants and management until business commences
  • Remain current on local retail trends and identify and secure new and appropriate retail concepts as part of merchandising strategy

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in retail sales, shopping mall leasing of specialty leasing experience
  • Experience with lease negotiations and documentation
  • Familiarity with local leasing regulations and market trends

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong understanding of sales and retail trends
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Result oriented
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to tenants
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
